Memories of loved ones

herinnerdingen

Every now and then I see fantastic initiatives on the web. Herinnerdingen ('things to remember') is such an example. This site lets children create a monument for a close relative they lost. The children take pictures from objects and tell a story what the objects mean to them. I've browsed through some of the stories. It's the ordinary thing that keep the memories alive: a bike, a pack of cigarettes, a shirt. Heartbreaking and wonderful at the same time.
