Some background information

I'm from the Netherlands, residence Enschede, and up until August 26th 2004 I was a student at University of Twente. Officially I was doing Communication Studies, but I wasn't satisfied with the curriculum they provided. Therefore I took up a minor in Philosophy to broaden my horizon. My Masters Thesis is about blogs and I tried to combine communicational and philosophical theories.

What keeps me busy?

I'm self-employed (my company name is Skallagrigg), but instead of building up my own business I'm heavily involved with building business through IFCCC (Institute for Collaboration, Creativity and Culture). I was introduced to this business development network in November 2004. Almost a year later together we celebrated the birth of this Institute. Currently I'm secretary and I focus on doing research projects within IFCCC.

Why do I publish on the net?

I started blogging because of my Masters Thesis. Since I researched weblogs I thought it would be a great idea to get some blogging experience myself. Therefore I started writing a blog in English about my research. Now that I've finished my education I continue to blog about anything that catches my interest. I also blog in Dutch under the name Skallagrigg.
