About this blog

This is my personal blog which I started in 2003. At first it was called Communigations, a variation on Communicative Investigations. The blog transformed itself more into a personal investigation than being a blog on communication and therefore needed a new name.As a fencer, the name of this blog reflects how I write my thoughts into coherent stories, fence them off from all the sidepaths and rapidly go back and forth, covering various topics that interest me.

Skallagrigg: The Magazine (perhaps) (51)
A month ago I wrote about turning Skallagrigg.net into a place where I collect stories around how technology lowers thresholds for people. Today I’ve been scoping out that idea further.
The idea so far is to collect stories about how technology enables people to do something by:
- lowering thresholds to do something;
- making things possible for people;
- doing good for people.
It could also include stories from the inventor side of technology. A ’show and tell’ of smart inventions that are good for people and/or the environment.
The dream scenario that I wrote on my whiteboard is to turn skallagrigg.net into an online magazine. Not afraid of dreaming big
I’m very curious what your thoughts are on this idea. What kind of stories would you envision on such a site? Would you be interested enough in reading stories on these subjects? Or would you like to contribute stories to such a site? Do you know of a site who is already doing exactly what I described as topics?
Any thought, advice or counter-question is welcome!
