About this blog

This is my personal blog which I started in 2003. At first it was called Communigations, a variation on Communicative Investigations. The blog transformed itself more into a personal investigation than being a blog on communication and therefore needed a new name.As a fencer, the name of this blog reflects how I write my thoughts into coherent stories, fence them off from all the sidepaths and rapidly go back and forth, covering various topics that interest me.

Producing stuff
So after visiting Brussels, battling the flu and visiting Paris, I finally got some work done this week. Last week I travelled to Paris for the Brands with a Conscience award ceremony of The Medinge Group. Ton is a member and I offered to catch the session on tape to practice my skills for my big project. And of course a good excuse to get me to Paris again
It took me a considerable amount of time editing the footage, especially since I just upgraded from iMovie HD to iMovie ‘09. Learning new things can be such a struggle. Nevertheless, iMovie ‘09 offers some great features and for a large part it became much easier to do certain things (such as replacing audiotracks and adding cutaway frames).
Although they’re not of the highest standard, I’m pleased with the clips (five in total). I learned a lot for the next time I’ll document an event (e.g. take more extra shots of the environment WITH tripod).
